Cellulose provides excellent noise control in walls and between floors. Cellulose has an NRC of 0.90, meaning that 90% of sound energy absorbed. Depending on the wall assembly, Cellulose offers an STC rating up to 66.
When applied within exterior walls, the manufacturer does not recommend use of a vapor retarder on the warm-in-winter side in mixed-humid climates. Check with your local building codes authority for recommendations in severe cold climate areas. All test results provided by the manufacturer.
